Willis Turner of SMEI on the Club VITO Show!

We’d like to share with you a phenomenal interview we did during the January 27th Club VITO Show.  First let me introduce myself,  Tony Parinello,  author and creator of Selling to VITO. VITO stands for Very Important Top Officer- the person with the ultimate veto power.  Club VITO is an online sales training program that teaches sales professionals how to sell to presidents, owners and ‘C’ Suite executives.  Every month we have a guest on our show. Today, I interviewed Willis Turner, CAE CSE President/CEO of Sales & Marketing Executives International (SMEI). SMEI is the worldwide organization dedicated to ethical standards, continuing professional development, knowledge sharing, mentoring students, and advancing free enterprise.

During the show, we talked about how our time is spent. Some examples are; developing clients, making calls, owning product knowledge, etc.  This led us into a discussion about how important it is to continue to develop yourself. Sales training is very important. However, SMEI is not a sales training organization. They offer testing towards getting  certified.  Life long learning is the mark of a professional. ‘Certification’ is a standard – you either meet it or you don’t.  There is no ranking.  Find out why Certification is important for sales professionals.  Think ahead, I might not need a job today but what’s it going to look like when and if I do need one.  Those that have certifications behind their name have a story to tell; meeting and exceeding, pursuit of life long learning, and having that gold standard.

There are three 15 minute segments that will give you more insights into the Certification World of SMEI.  Click below to learn more.
